Course Description/Outline/Objectives:
This class focuses on preparing students for the ACT exam, with a combination of extensive practice and in-depth studies of strategies. Every subsection will be covered in detail, with custom-tailored approaches developed for each student based on their skill level and goals. Students will go through five full-length exams over the duration of the course. Students will also utilize an online program (Study.com) for additional practice (included in price), and will also receive access to Matthew’s online ACT Prep course until they graduate. A concentrated math review will be incorporated utilizing Study.com.
NOTE: Students who choose the online option will have access to the on-demand version with a 4-week crash course, a full 16-week course on-demand (which will also be available live via zoom on Wednesdays at 4:30 CT with recordings posted in the course), and live zoom study sessions after the fall for the 4 weeks leading up to each ACT exam date. Student will then have continued access to the online course until graduation.

Recommended Grade Level(s) for this class: 9-12th grade. 9th grade students can take the class, and seniors can benefit (though the opportunities for them to test are limited), but it is generally recommended for the sophomore or junior year.
Additional comments: I do not typically give out traditional grades, students will benefit based on what they put into the class. Practice test scores will be tracked in Schoology and graded based upon completion of assignments. The course can be counted towards 1/2 credit in Test Prep.
