Course Description/Outline/Objectives: 
This thirty-two week class will introduce scientific concepts in the context of history of the ancient world, studying natural philosophers and their contributions between roughly 600 A.D. and 1500 B.C. Natural philosophers discussed include Hippocrates, Aristotle, Leonardo da Vinci, and many more! We will use engaging hands-on labs as well as thought provoking discussions to help us understand discoveries of these natural philosophers about the amazing world our Creator made. It is expected that students arrive prepared to discuss and contribute to the class setting in order to enhance learning for each class member. Class time is meant to supplement and enhance learning done at home. Although the majority of experiments will be performed in class, students will be asked to perform a number of experiments at home in order to heighten learning. These experiments typically can be done with common household items. In addition, tests will be taken at home and signed by parents and then turned into tutor for grading.

Expected Weekly Time Commitment for Homework: 2-3 hours/week
