AmeliaTracy is a devoted music educator, with a love for nurturing musical exploration and appreciation in her students. While studying at Lipscomb University, she acted as principal cellist of the chamber orchestra and embraced diverse musical traditions through study abroad experiences in Austria and Spain. Graduating with a B.A. in Cello Performance in 2019, Millie began her teaching career, leading elementary music programs and middle and high school bands for three years. In 2022, Millie and her husband Dalton embarked on an unforgettable adventure across the Western United States, exploring the natural wonders of the National Parks. Settling back in Murfreesboro, they welcomed their first child, a baby boy, in December 2023. Now, Millie is thrilled to return to teaching and eager to share her passion for music with her students at Discipleship Tutorial, where she looks forward to inspiring a new generation of music enthusiasts.

Course Description/Outline/Objectives: 
In this course, students will have the opportunity to expand their musical horizons by studying the building blocks of music! Whether you're a seasoned musician or a complete beginner, we’ll spend the school year deciphering notes and rhythms, mastering intervals and notation, and learning how to utilize chord construction and progression. We’ll develop acute listening skills and explore the art of composition, giving you the skills to enjoy and analyze music at a deeper level. This course will equip students to navigate the world of music!
